More than 270 Family Ministry leaders from the Diocese of Guarapuava, Brazil, gathered on August 29 and 30 for another stage of formation aimed at strengthening the pastoral work carried out in support of families, guided by the author André Parreira.
The event took place at the Parish of Santa Cruz and Our Lady of Sorrows in Guarapuava and focused on two fundamental moments in the Church’s pastoral care for couples: preparation for Marriage and the accompaniment of couples after the celebration of the Sacrament.
The formation was led by André Parreira, author of the book Matrimony: Preparation Sessions and several other books about Marriage Catechumenate. Throughout the two days, participants took part in moments of formation and deeper reflection, as well as opportunities for fellowship and spirituality, including the celebration of Holy Mass.
The initiative emphasized the importance of accompanying couples not only during their preparation for Marriage, but also after the celebration of the Sacrament. This ongoing pastoral care helps families find within the ecclesial community the support they need to continue their journey of faith and strengthen their marital vocation.
The program began on Saturday afternoon and continued into the evening, concluding the day with the celebration of Holy Mass. Activities resumed on Sunday morning and continued throughout the day, alternating between moments of formation, fellowship, and spirituality.
Held at the diocesan level, the gathering gave Family Ministry leaders the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and renew their mission of serving families, especially in light of the challenges faced by couples throughout the different stages of married life.
